India will get no additional funds for search, rescue and response operations till the railways reach an agreed resolution with the Government, an official statement said today.
The statement said the government will take a decision on whether to extend assistance to the railways from the end of the current financial year to January.
It said the Railway Board would take a call on the issue on January 10, and the government would then decide on the matter.
We will ensure that there is no financial shortcoming for the government, it added.
Earlier, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said the Government was committed to securing adequate funds for the search and search and response and rescue teams.
